It's a busy day here in Colorado Ski Country USA with fresh snow falling and a new lodge opening!

Fresh snow added to the excitement at Eldora, just outside Boulder, as they cut the ribbon on the brand-new Caribou Lodge. The new 12,000-square-foot building houses both the Eldora's ski school and the nonprofit Ignite Adaptive Sports, which provides snow sport opportunities to people with disabilities. It's the only adaptive sports program accessible via the Denver Regional Transportation District’s public transportation system. Use this video courtesy of Colorado Ski Country USA:

Nearby at Loveland Ski Area, just west of Denver at the top of the Continental Divide, a snowy night gave way to bluebird skies this morning as Mother Nature helped snowmaking crews with 2 inches of fresh snow overnight and 13 inches over the past week. Loveland is on track to open in early November. Use this video courtesy of Loveland Ski Area:

It's really looking like winter at Purgatory Resort, outside of Durango in Southwestern Colorado. Purgatory Resort received several inches of new snow from this week's storm, and snowmaking crews are gearing up for opening day in two weeks. Use this video courtesy of Purgatory Resort:

At Steamboat, the flakes are falling on Sunshine Peak. That's the top of the resort, which guests can access in about 13 minutes on Steamboat's 3.16 mile long, new-last-season Wild Blue Gondola. Use this video courtesy of Steamboat Ski Resort:

At Winter Park, about an hour and a half from Denver, the flakes are falling and the powder is piling up on their snowstake cam. Use courtesy of Winter Park Resort:

No matter where you ski this season, now is the perfect time to make your plans. The earlier you buy tickets and book lessons, rentals, and lodging, the more opportunities there are to save. If you have a favorite resort, look into a season pass or multi-day lift ticket pack, and remember that many resorts have early bird and bundle pricing for packages of lift tickets, lessons, rentals, and lodging.
